We're a week away from making our big move to Charlotte and 4 days from the day Louie takes his boards. To say things are a little chaotic around here would be an understatement. We also had a small, early birthday party for Kinsley on Saturday and I helped to host a baby shower for my dear friend, Melissa today. All that being said, our house is a wreck and no where near ready for movers. Soooo... Aubrey's 5 month's post did not happen although I did manage to take pictures. Her 1/2 birthday is today and I REFUSE to let another month go by with out recording the details of our little peanut!
Aubrey is the SMILIEST (is that a word?!?) baby I know. You just glance at her and her entire face lights up in a huge grin (even at 2am!). I love it! She has been managing all kinds of new accomplishments in the past week including rolling from back to tummy (she's been rolling from tummy to back for a couple of months), sitting pretty well unassisted, watching EVERYTHING we eat and do, sneaking her arm out of her swaddle and consequently waking herself up pretty regularly, sleeping in her crib (aka packnplay), making very cute high-pitched squeals and some rather alarming, deep, Arnold Schwarzenegger "Total Recall" sounding grunts. She loves to grab at everything and is a drooling fool. She has, for the most part, decided two naps works for her and I still have NO idea how to put this child to bed at night. Every night is a little like Russian roulette. Will she go down easily? Will she scream like a wild banshee? Will she nurse quietly and fall asleep? Will she refuse the bottle and decide she wants to play? "Mommy and Daddy want to go to bed??? Too bad. I'm ready to party!" The whole process is a little exhausting and slightly stress inducing for Mama. With Kinsley we started a bedtime routine at 5 months and she was sleeping through the night 7p-7a shortly there after. Aubrey likes to remind me that she is nothing like her sister and that she'll go to bed when she's good and ready. Once we get to Charlotte, "Operation Sleep Training Take 2" will begin. :)
- weighs 17lbs2oz (73%)
- is wearing size 3 diapers and size 4 at night
- is wearing size 6-9 month clothing
- still sleeps better swaddled, but knows how to Houdini her way out
- eats about 6 ounces of breast milk per feeding every 3-4 hours
- tried cereal for the first time... will hit the solids harder once settled in Charlotte
- rolled from back to tummy and now, therefore, is a roller!
- can really use her hands well and can get her paci in her mouth on her own
- is not far from being mobile on her tummy
- can sit fairly well unassisted
- is our smily, happy peanut
