Dr. Stryker

Yeah!! We are so excited... Louie is now officially Dr. Louis S. Stryker, which means our mail will read Dr. and Mrs. Louis Stryker. (How fun is that?!?) The ceremony was very exciting, although Louie was a tad-bit warm under his regalia. There were 218 graduates and Louie was right there near the end. His parents, sister, my family (minus Sarah, Luke, John, and Drew) were there. We went for dessert afterword at the Sky Lounge at the Hilton. It was very nice. It is amazing how quickly these four years have flown by and like Louie said, "There is no way we could have made it without the support of all of our friends and family." Thank you to all!!

In other news, I found out my placement for teaching in Rochester. I will be a third grade teacher at Franklin Elementary teaching all subjects. I am thrilled and looking forward to joining the Franklin family. :)

Catherine's Graduation

Well, I made it. Some were a little worried, myself included, but I am proud to say I graduated with my Masters in Education on Saturday, May 19th. Almost everyone in my family drove up for the occasion (which is a great accomplishment for the size of my family) and Louie's parents were in attendance as well. The graduation ceremony was rather lengthy, but everyone was in good spirits at the lunch my parents planned for me. We had a delicious meal at Maggiano's and the company was wonderful too. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again for Louie's graduation.

On a different note, we received good news on Wednesday. I was offered an elementary teaching position in Rochester. YEAH! I am not sure of the grade level or campus, but am thrilled to have a job lined up. I should find out more information in late June or early July. Our adventure continues...

Visiting San Antonio

Louie and I visited San Antonio the last weekend in April for some Fiesta activities and a wedding. We returned again the next weekend to see my sister dance, to visit my grandmother, and to attend a going away party my friends threw for us. We had a blast and it was a reminder as to how truly blessed we are. :)

Visiting John

My brother, John, graduated from Basic Training for the Army on April 20th at Fort Jackson in South Carolina. He is stationed there for two additional months for training in his speciality, which is human resources. We will know soon where he is headed next. We had a great time visiting with him on "family day" and were all very proud of his hard work and amazing accomplishment.
