She wasn't too sure about the water and did NOT like the sand touching her hands. This turned out to be some great motivation to take her first steps!! Yep, she took her first steps on the beach. She wanted to go to Daddy but he was not on the blanket and she did not want to crawl to him and get her hands sandy so she took about 3 steps to get to him. We were both pretty excited and I was so glad that Louie was with us when it happened. He was with us when she crawled for the first time too. With his schedule, I feel pretty fortunate that he has been there to witness some of the important stuff!
We decided Miss Kinsely is a lot like her daddy for multiple reasons. The first being, she doesn't do anything unnecessary when what she is already doing is working just fine. Meaning there has to be enough motivation (or a carrot large enough) to get her to change or do something new . Louie was telling me that for him to be potty-trained his mom finally told him he couldn't go into the pool until he was out of diapers. Well, that was all he needed and poof, he was potty-trained. Kinsley didn't crawl until there was something she wanted badly enough and with walking something she wanted to avoid bad enough. Hmmmm... the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I didn't get any video of her walking yet. She did it a couple more times while we were there, but plenty of pics/videos to come. :) In the meantime, here is the rest of our beach trip.
